In 2008, I took up photography with the goal of becoming a better director. The French New Wave directors I looked up to emphasized that a great director should write and shoot their own work, so I saw photography as a way to master lighting, composition, and, most importantly, learning how to guide people.
I value coverage, running multiple takes to shape the story in post rather than being confined by a singular performance. I trust and empower collaborators, guiding rather than controlling. I strive for originality - just me, the subject, and a moment that couldn’t exist anywhere else.
For me, photography is about capturing fleeting moments. I find liberation in the process, creating an environment of empowerment and self-fulfillment where timelessness and the present coexist.
